Science Day 2018

FLIGHT was this years theme and it was fabulous. We spent the morning baking flight themed cakes and biscuits to sell and raise money for Cornwall’s Air Ambulance, then had a workshop with ‘Great Scott Adventures’  all about how birds fly, why they migrate and investigating the use of different types of feathers.

Did you know about the different ways in which birds use their wings? Or, which birds migrate and where they go and why? Our investigations helped us gain an understanding about the different forces that help birds fly. In the afternoon we investigated different designed paper aeroplanes and made rocket mice which was great fun.

At the end of the day our cake sale raised £76.60 for the air ambulance – brilliant!
