In line with the Cornwall Local Authority policy, children normally join the Foundation Stage group in Fal Class at Constantine Primary School in the September following their fourth birthday (unless a deferred or delayed entry request is made). Most of them attend full time from September but children with birthdays between 1 March and 31 August may attend part-time for the morning session initially.

As an inclusive school we welcome all children to our school and we have an accessibility plan which will allow us to make provision for all children. Under certain exceptional circumstances deferred or delayed entry requests can be made and the procedure is outlines in the policy below.

Application for a place is made through Cornwall Council website under School Admissions.

Constantine School’s Published Admissions Number has been set at 25.  The Local Authority makes the decision on allocation of place, but parents have the right to submit an appeal to an independent panel through Schools Section at County Hall.

Children who have been offered a place at Constantine Primary School for September  will have many transition opportunities and we find they usually settle in very quickly. Any new child will be supported by a carefully selected buddy in their class; this individual will provide them with lots of support both in class time and out of class.

Staff are always available to answer parents questions and parents will also be invited to a welcome meeting in the summer term and a meet the teacher evening in September.
