Lerryn Class Learn About the How the Earth, Sun and Moon Move in Space 1 Oct 2013

In our science lesson last week Lerryn learned that:

The Earth rotates on its axis every 24 hours.

The Earth orbits the Sun every year.

The Moon spins on its axis every 27.3 days.

The Moon orbits the Earth every 27.3 days.

The rotation of the Earth makes it look as if the Sun moves through our sky; in fact, the Sun NEVER moves.

To help remember how the Earth and Moon move in space, we went outside and pretended to be the Earth, Sun and Moon. It made us pretty dizzy! Look the video of us on the field.
