Explosive Science in Tamar Class

Today we did a science investigation which encompassed many aspects of the primary science curriculum: pressure, gasses, reversible and irreversible changes, gravity, weight…

Children worked in groups to test different variables which would affect the time it takes for a film canister to ‘pop’ when a vitamin C tablet was added to it with some water. Some children also measured how the amount of water, or Vitamin C tablet affected how far or high a canister would travel.

It was great fun, with lots of exciting learning. The children collaborated really well and worked very scientifically to measure, record and collect their data.
