CLUBS

Clubs will start next week with the exception of cookery which will start on 27 September 2012 and patchwork will start on 4 October.  We are unable to run a chess club as unfortunately we have no one to teach it.  Any volunteers?

Cookery clubChildren have been split into two groups.  All children who signed up for this club have been given a letter with details.

Eco club

Eco club would love to have a collection of old wellies and clothes that children could have to keep in stock when gardening.  If you have anything that you could donate Mr Anjari would be very grateful.

FOOTBALL AND NETBALL LEAGUE MATCHES

The league matches start next Wednesday 19 September.  We currently have no parent volunteers to drive and look after the teams, please can anyone help or we will have to pull out of the league.

COFFEE MORNING

Please come to our coffee morning on Friday 12 October 2012 and meet Chris Lucas our Parent Support Advisor together with Julie Pickerill from the Family Information Service and Natasha James Locality Manager.  They are all invaluable sources of information and could help parents with general questions about a wide range of topics or give individual advice and support where needed. Come anyway and have a chat – new parents are especially welcome and this meeting would also be particularly useful if you are new to the area.

SCHOOL MEALS

Please remember to bring your order and money for school meals in an envelope on Monday morning of every week.  The cost is £2.10 per day. The kitchen will not be able to take orders/money part way through the week in future.  Cheques payable to Eden Foodservice please.

HUFF AND PUFF KEY RINGS

Children are only allowed to play with the Huff and Puff equipment if they have purchased a key ring.  These are £2 for the whole academic year, available from your child’s teaching assistant.

LOST PROPERTY

There is a large black bag full of lost property and a bag of trainers, please come and search if you have any items of uniform missing.

SHELTERBOX COMPETITION SUCCESS

Five of the children in last year’s Tamar class were winners of the illustration competition for the next book, ‘Tsunami’. The illustrator Michael Foreman and a panel of judges chose pictures by Vera Kok, Guy Brooks, Ellie Sneesby, Annie Spearman and Iola Lawton.  They have all been invited to the presentation in London.  Tabby Lawer, Edith Matthias, Megan Hart, Molly Seymour, Muirne MacLeod and Alfie van Veen had their work ‘Highly Commended’.

We are continuing to raise money for this charity – please don’t stop collecting the pennies!
