The itinerary for the camp is as follows:
- On Thursday morning we will be driving to the Carn Euny, the Iron Age settlement near Sancreed (on the other side of Penzance), which is the closest we can get to a sense of a Stone Age village to link with last term’s topic. We will be doing activities organised by Year 8 History Leaders from Penryn College, led by History teacher Lucy Chapman.
- They will return to school for approximately 4pm for playtime and dinner (comprising of pasties, sausage rolls, or an alternative if anyone doesn’t like either of those). We will play games on the field, set up our beds in the school hall and then have hot chocolate, books and bedtime.
- On Friday we will have breakfast, pack our bags and head out to Bosahan Woods for a range of team-building and nature activities. ‘Slice’ mobile pizza van will be providing lunch for us, and we will go to the village shop for the children to buy a sweet for dessert (we will give them £1 each for this, and do not require any money of their own).
- After lunch we will go to the park or back at school, depending on the weather. Then we will head back to school for sharing assembly. Pick up will be at 3.15pm as normal.
School uniform is NOT required. Your child will need the following items:
Sleeping bag, pillow, camping/bed roll, pyjamas, toothbrush, wash kit, towel, Thursday clothes and change of clothes for Friday, underwear, suncream, cap, waterproof coat, torch & teddy bear.
