Visit from Pont Croix 29 Apr 2013

On Friday we were delighted to welcome 16 French children aged between four and thirteen from Pont Croix and their teacher, Cathie Kerloch, as part of this year’s Twinning Visit. Our children had a great day, practising their French, making crepes and showing the visitors our school. The French pupils were very impressed with the level of technology we have and the great teamwork of all the staff and pupils. The feedback from all was very positive and the adults in the party, 48 in all, were full of praise for the school and staff and the wonderful time the children had enjoyed. Parents and grandparents attended our celebration assembly at the end of the day and presented us with a beautiful set of books in French including versions of The Hungry Caterpillar, The Little Red Hen and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We will enjoy reading them and thinking of our Twinning Friends and hopefully some more of our families will be able to visit Pont Croix in return nextyear.

I would personally like to thank all our staff and pupils who were so welcoming and helpful and the host families as well as the Constantine and Pont Croix Twinning Associations. A special thank you too to Mme Scott, our wonderful French teacher and to Cathie Kerloch who speaks excellent English and really loved her day at our school. She told me she often looks at our website so I hope she sees this!
