Swimming 15 Feb 2013

Years ago Constantine School had it’s own swimming pool that the children in school now won’t remember (even if some parents and grand parents do). However, being able to swim is still considered an essential life skill and every child in KS 2 has swimming lessons in curriculum time annually. We are fortunate to have four qualified swimming teachers amongst our staff and Mrs Gilbert is also a trained life guard. We have links with RNAS Culdrose as some parents work there and we are one of a few community groups who are lucky enough to use the wonderful facilities available at this venue. Although some children have swimming lessons outside of school we teach non-swimmers up to competition level swimmers. We work on water safety, confidence, stroke technique, stamina and Rookie Lifeguard skills. All children also work towards distance and swim challenge awards.
