Swimathon 2018 22 May 2018

The Swimathon 2018 was brilliant with all children exceeding their personal best distances. Every child swam as far as they could for thirty minutes to try and beat their previous distance. Distances covered by Y4 & Y5 ranged from 250m to 1,350m which is phenomenal. Our lifeguards, Hutch and Lou were very impressed that everyone kept going for the whole time and they made it extra special by putting up all the flags and getting the lane ropes in place ready for us. We really are so fortunate to use the fantastic swimming pool at RNAS Culdrose.

All children received a new swimming hat and sew on badge as well as a great sense of achievement and pride in their efforts.

Teegan: I am a little bit nervous but can’t wait to swim.

Emma: I can’t believe I kept swimming for the whole time. I swam further than I ever have done before.

Brendan: This is great fun. I didn’t know I could swim that far. Now I need to learn to breath properly then next year I will do better.

Mrs Jones: I’ve not been in a pool since this time last year, it’s so good of you to make me do this Mrs G.
