Super fit swimmers raise money for a great cause by completing 30km! 28 Apr 2013

For a second year running the pool in Helston was taken over by children, staff, parents, governors and ex pupils from Constantine School at the National Swimathon event 2013. We entered six teams and names were pulled it of a hat to decide who swam with who. Every team had to complete a distance of 2km which is 200 lengths of a 25m pool. Most swimmers swam between 2 and one hundred lengths to make up the challenge distance. It was quite exciting on poolside with some staff, parents and grand parents counting and timing laps and recording progress for each team. This was all for a brilliant cause too: Marie Curie Cancer Care. As money is still being collected we do not yet know how much we have raised for this charity. If you would like to sponsor us, it isn’t too late. just visit www.swimathon.org and search for your team names: Constantine 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6.
Team 3 were this years winners completing the distance in 1 hour and 57 minutes. Well done Lily, Barney, Louis and Mrs G.

And finally: how to put your swimming hat on…
