Sid Tresidder visits Kenwyn Class 15 Oct 2012

Sid Tresidder, a friend of Aimee and Ellie Smith, visited us today to explain about life in a wheelchair. He described a stroke that happened in 2005 that left him with paralysis down the left side of his body, and the impact that it has had on his life. The class asked a range of questions such as “Were you inspired by the Paralympics?” and “How easy is it to cook for yourself”. The children added that they had a better understanding of what it may be like to wake up one morning in hospital, adaptations that people with disabilities may need in their homes and to “not jugde a book by it’s cover”.

A huge thank you to Sid and Sue Smith for making the visit happen.
