Rugby Star Comes To Constantine 24 Jul 2012

Yesterday, we were lucky enough to have Hugh Vyvyan, Wilf and Poppy’s uncle, in to talk to the children about his illustrious career as a rugby player. He is the second in the all time premiership appearances leader board with 245. Hugh played his junior rugby at Penryn before he moved on to Newcastle Falcons and Saracens. He has played for England A on 35 occasions as well as the full England side once against Canada, where he scored a try.

Hugh spoke to the children about life as a rugby player and his journey of how he got where he is today. The children then had the opportunity to ask questions and found out more about being an elite athlete. The children were engaged throughout and after Hugh had spoken, several children mentioned that it has inspired them to join the rugby club in the Autumn term.

Thanks Hugh for coming in to talk to the children, we hope to see you again in the near future.
