Rio 2016 21 May 2016

Our Olympics topic has taken off and we have been busy writing biographies in literacy, learning about the seven Olympic and Paralympic values in PSHE as well as finding out the origins of the Olympic Rings that are still used today. In music we have been drumming with the African and samba drums. In maths we have been given Olympic finals times to order with lots of decimals – it’s amazing that Michael Phelps won gold in the 100m butterfly final breaking an Olympic record and beating the silver medalist by only 0.01 of a second. That’s one hundred times smaller than a second and the reporters talk about it as if it’s a massive amount of time. Watching the race in screen had us all cheering and shouting for team USA. We can’t wait for this years 27th modern Olympic Games to start 👏🏽
