PSHE: Drug Education 12 Oct 2013

Helford Class have been learning all about the bad habit and addiction of smoking this half term. They started buy looking at healthy and un-healthy habits including: picking your nose, eating sweets, hand washing and sleeping. Smoking has reduced dramatically ever since the Law changed and it became illegal to smoke in public places in July 2007. Helford children have been finding out about the long and short term effects, passive smoking, the law and how they can help advise people they know to stop smoking…especially this month as in October each year our nation promotes ‘STOPOBER’. Although some children in helford Class have family members who smoke, they are well aware of the increased risks associated with the inhalation of smoke for all ages. In the future they all hope to make good choices and think about their bodies as what we do in life is a choice.
