Pirate day. 22 Feb 2012

The whole of Key Stage 1 kicked off the new half term in style by having a pirate day to support their topic work. The children and adults came in dressed as pirates for the day and there was an outstanding selection of outfits and costumes on show! The children had the pleasure of having local storyteller Shanty Baba come to talk to them, in an effort to recruit them as real pirates to support him in his search for treasure just off the Lizard. The children completed several activities throughout the morning such as creating their own recruitment videos using the iPads, making pirate pancakes and also listening to inspiring stories. In the afternoon, the children completed a treasure hunt, pirate games and activities. They had a great day and it has certainly inspired them for the rest of the half term!

Below is a selection of photographs from throughout the day.
