Outdoor Education latest update 16 Nov 2012

Parents, PTA, governors, PFI and staff were all invoted to our third Outdoor Education meeting, held on Wednesday 14th November. Sara Gadd led an activity to map the school grounds in terms of events, memory and objects, and we poured over the children’s suggestions for how we could adapt the school grounds.

Then we planned…and this is what we came up with. A loop containing construction and building materials to play with, tunnels and screens, a yurt, pond and firepit, revamped ampitheatre, sandpit and barkchip play space, paths and science space.

The PTA have already been really proactive in putting finds in place so that we can make a start as soon as possible, with the plan that we can launch the space to the children on the first day of the Summer Term 2013, when our topic is Green.

The photograph below does not do justice to the plan, so please go to Mr Anjari’s classroom if you would like to see it live.

Many thanks to all involved.
