Sonya Herbert

Mrs Herbert is very proud to be the Headteacher of Constantine Primary School and feels very privileged to be part of a school that always puts children first. All staff are committed to creating an environment that is positive and encourages all children to thrive emotionally, physically and academically. The experiences and opportunities that are on offer to all children at Constantine School are incredible and without doubt, make this school a very unique and special place. Mrs Herbert is very approachable and is keen to develop positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider community.

Mrs Gilbert is our Assistant Headteacher. She is our co-ordinator for PE, Science and Educational visits. She also mentors our Graduate Teachers on Initial Teacher Training and our newly qualified teachers. She loves the out doors and organising camps and is our lifeguard and swimming enthusiast. Mrs Gilbert leads a variety of sports clubs and the Partnership Leagues throughout the year.

Mr Wild has been teaching at Constantine since 2002 and is still enjoying every minute of it!

After moving to Cornwall from the Lake District in 1991, Mr Wild studied a fine art degree at Falmouth. In the year 2001 he qualified as a teacher and spent his first year in teaching at Marazion School.

Mr Wild currently teaches in Tamar Class. He is responsible for the management and development of our excellent website and is the subject leader for maths, ICT and DT.

Mrs Savage is leader of the Early Years and teaches the Foundation Stage children in Fal Class. She loves the flexibility and fun of the Early Years Curriculum and has taught  in many different schools and situations. She loves sport, music and art and in her spare time she enjoys being outdoors with her family. She is a member of Helford Gig Club with Mrs Gilbert.

Georgia Paine


Miss Paine teaches Year 6 in Tresillian Class. Miss Paine has recently taken on the role of English subject leader in our school. She is a passionate young teacher, making all of her lessons as creative as possible.

She loves living in Cornwall and enjoying the outdoors, especially sea swimming! Miss Paine moved to Cornwall to study Journalism before training to be a teacher.

Jodie Bidgood


Miss Bidgood teaches in Year 2 known as Lerryn Class.  Miss Bidgood shares the role of our school’s Mathematics subject leader with Mr Wild.

She is an enthusiastic and caring teacher. Miss Bidgood worked as a Teaching Assistant at Porthleven School for two years whilst completing her degree. She then completed her Initial Teacher Training at Parc Eglos School before coming to us. Miss Bidgood is looking forward to all that Constantine has to offer! During any spare time she enjoys going for long walks on the lovely Cornish beaches.

Lil Dye

Mrs Dye is teaching one day a week in Helford and one day a week in Kenwyn.   She gets very excited about education and particularly likes it when children are happy about an achievement they’ve made. She was born in Newcastle, but then moved to Yorkshire. She is extremely happy to be living in Cornwall, especially the lifestyle and the people.  She gets onto the beach whenever she can and likes to go bodyboarding when the waves are good.  She also loves music and likes to encourage everyone to have a go at singing.


Miss Jude Puxley

Miss Puxley  joined Constantine in 2015. She is currently teaching in Year 3, and is the science subject leader. Miss Puxley enjoys the curiosity that science brings to the children.

She has a passion for sport in and out of school and loves supporting the children at netball, basketball and hockey clubs.

Gwen Davies

Miss Davies teaches Year 1 in Cober Class. She has recently taken on the role of Reading leader. Having completed

her training and NQT year in Cornish schools, she is delighted to join the Constantine team. She is an enthusiastic and creative teacher, who is looking forward to inspiring the children in their learning.

Miss Davies loves to spend her spare time in the wonderful Cornish outdoors, walking on the beach or going running.
