About our school

Constantine Primary School is part of TLAT (The Learning Academy Trust). We have approximately 173 boys and girls on roll whose ages range from 4-11 years. The children are taught in seven single form entry classes, each named after a Cornish river.

The original building was constructed in 1966 but in 2005 the school was completely transformed and refurbished. Our spacious classrooms enjoy splendid views over the Lizard peninsula towards Goonhilly Downs and all have interactive white boards, computers, access to a mobile suite of net books and iPads. We have a lovely library, a large hall equipped with P.E. apparatus, an outdoor adventure play area and climbing wall, an outdoor ‘Learning Lodge’ to encourage outdoor learning, a large sports field and a beautiful garden for the children to grow and harvest plants. Our school cooks  prepare excellent hot meals served daily on the premises.

Also on site is the Constantine Pre-School. Although this is a totally separate unit to the school, we liaise very closely with the Pre-School staff and the pupils are able to share our facilities as well as prepare and familiarise themselves for entry into the primary school. We seek to enable the children to develop their full potential as individuals, and as valued and fulfilled members of society. We transfer our pupils in the September after their eleventh birthday to our local Secondary Schools at Penryn, Mullion and Helston.

We are an integral part of Constantine village and the school plays an active part in village life. We’re lucky to be very close the the beautiful Helford River and our children all have the opportunity to learn to sail with the Helford River Children’s Sailing Trust.
