Olympic Torch Visits Constantine 17 Apr 2012

A replica Olympic Torch arrived in our end of term assembly and was in school for the first day of our summer term. Three children from Mawnan Smith School handed it over to us and after our days work with it Mrs Brand, Daisy, Ella, Tabby and Paschalis handed it to Boskenwyn School. By the time the actual Olympic Torch arrives in the UK  from Greece the replica torch will have visited every Primary School in Cornwall.

On monday when the torch was still in our hands all classes  looked at the history of the torch as well as  it’s origins andprevious designs. Helford Class had a go at a relay and carried the torch round our school field.

We are all looking forward to the real Olympic Torch reaching Cornwall and starting it’s journey on the 19th May bound for the new Olympic Stadium ready for the start of the 2012 Olympics; the third Games to be held in the London.
