Miss Smitheram – Marathon Woman! 14 Jan 2014

Work, Run, Sleep, Repeat!

2014 can only mean one thing in my house – MARATHON!!

As you may be aware, Sunday 13th April 2014 I will be running the Virgin London Marathon, all 26.2 miles of it! Having given up running at the age of 14, the thought of running the  marathon was (and still is) a very daunting idea.

The training is hard, grueling and continuous, but I know that it has to be done if I am to complete the marathon in one piece. The more time on my legs now, the easier the marathon will be.

This is where  I need all of your motivation and support:

I have decided that whilst I run the marathon, I should fund raise at the same time. This means that at least a charity will benefit from all the pain and aching my body will be going through!

Having shared 2.5yrs of my life with an awesomely amazing Downs Syndrome boy who taught me how to have fun, laugh and more importantly, how a cape should be a regular accessory, I have decided to run for Cornwall Downs Syndrome Support Group.

Please help me make a difference to this charity by either:

1) making a donation to my Virgin Money Giving page. Please visit: http://www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/OAPand30 .

2) There will be a sponsorship bucket at the school office for anyone who would like to sponsor me, without having to go online.

Every little helps, and I’m just trying to make a difference to this amazing charity.

Bring on the training 🙂
