Lobster Hatchery 22 Oct 2016

Year 4 had a fantastic day in Paddtow visiting the Lobster Hatchery. We learnt all about the growth and development of a Lobster and the processes in which they are helped to survive and thrive. Amazingly, they reproduce throughout their lives and never die – unless killed in a fight or caught by a fisherman. They have adapted to their habitat very well and have many features that help them survive. The largest lobster caught in Cornwall was caught in Fowey and it weighed 9.3kg and was 1.26m long! We have been so inspired and never knew lobsters could be so fascinating.
