Leafy silk screen printing 22 Jun 2015

On our art day last week, Mr Wild led a silk screen printing workshop with year 5.

We made these fantastic images by first of all, printing a flat colour as a background onto A2 paper. Then we layed dried, pressed leaves into our background  (which was still a little wet) to act as stencils. We chose a contrasting or complimentary colour to over-print with. Next we carefully peeled the dried leaves of our paper to reveal their imprints and their outlines.

The results were beautiful and strangely photographic.
