KS1 Trip to the Maritime Museum 5 Mar 2012

On Friday, the whole of KS1 visited Falmouth Maritime Museum and went on a boat trip to St Mawes. The trip was planned to support the children’s topic of Pirates.

In the morning the children completed four activities in the Maritime Museum: creating a treasure map, looking underwater, exploring views from the lookout tower  as well as making their own boat and racing them. The children had great fun and certainly learnt a lot! Following lunch all 68 children walked down to the Prince of Wales pier where we were met by a boat. We went from the Prince of Wales pier to St Mawes and back. Luckily, the crossing wasn’t too rough and no children (or adults) were sick. We then walked back through Falmouth  to the Maritime Museum . We all had a great day and I would like to thank the parent helpers, parent drivers, Cornwall Ferries and the team at the Maritime Museum. This trip could not have taken place without the financial support of the PTA, thank you.

Below is a small selection of photographs taken on the day.
