Hindu Dancing 24 Oct 2013

The children in Helford, Kenwyn and Tamar classes have been learning about the link between Hindu gods and dancing. Unlike modern moving to music, traditional dance tells a story, such as a sharp downward motion of the arm to show the destructive power of Lord Shiva.

The three Key Stage Two classes astounded Mr Anjari with their enthusiasm and broad grins for learning moves and appreciating that avatars are the One Supreme God’s way of showing what He is like, not just blue people imagined on a planet far away.

It was a brilliant way of linking RE to PE, Literacy, and most importantly their everyday lives.IMG_0244 IMG_0275 IMG_0279 IMG_0287
