Helford prepare for London River Race 3 Sep 2013

A crew of 8 will be rowing 23 Miles non-stop from London Docklands to Ham to raise funds for our school and pre school.
This race is known as ‘The Rowing Marathon’ and is a spectacular event to be a part of alongside 350 other boats. It is quite a gruelling physical challenge in a traditionally built Cornish Pilot Gig.

Mrs Gilbert is the team captain and all rowers are members of the Helford River Gig Club. They have all been training very hard over the last few months. The purpose of this challenge is to raise as much money as possible for Constantine Primary School and Constantine Pre School to purchase new equipment and promote children’s education in the village of Constantine.

The crew members are as follows: Stroke Rower: Cags Gilbert, No5: Tracey Rickard, No4: Misri Dey, No3: Christine Winans, No2: Jane Chetwynd, No1 Marian Kent/Bethan Kent and Cox: Guy Smith.

Please support us on Saturday 7th September 2013. Cash or cheque donations can be given to school or team members. Please dig deep so the children in Constantine can all benefit.
