Heart Start with Year 4 9 May 2018

Year four were so enthusiastic about learning how to deal with different situations where people need help. They all embraced the role play activities and also produced some excellent instructional writing to help them remember sequences to follow in the case of an emergency. The syllabus included: dealing with choking, shock, heart attack, unconscious and breathing, conscious, non-breathing and bleeding casualties. The differences between adults, children and babies were also practised.

Many have an awesome technique and they took it all in their stride. Should they ever come across an incident they will have some knowledge to draw from until they do further first aid courses as they grow up. This has certainly given them a taster.
