Exploring the Suffix -ly 25 Feb 2014

We know that the suffix – ly changes an adjective to an adverb.
Eg. happy -happily, awkward-awkwardly.
A suffix is added to a root word which has a meaning on it’s own.
We had a time limit to find as many words as we could with suffixes in. There is a spelling rule we must remember: when the root word ends in y we need to change it to an i before adding the -ly. We then added some of these words to our written work, taking care of our spelling and handwriting.
