Cricket 2018 7 Jun 2018

Year 5 were invited to play cricket at Truro Prep School. They played really well and wore our schools very own cricket whites so they looked the part. Not only did they look good they played some awesome cricket and having never played together as a team before, many pupils were quite nervous. However, with an exceptional team performance, Constantine Primary beat Truro Prep in our first ever game this year. A superb opening bowl from Isaac, taking out the middle stump, set the standard for an exciting afternoon in the Cornish sun. With professional bowling from Evie, Bertie and Beau and the terrific fielding of Helen and Jowan, Truro Prep were well beaten by 40 runs at 2 wickets! A tight game against Archbishop Benson followed and only for some exceptional batting by the opposition at the end led to Constantine’s defeat, by only 11 runs! Our team demonstrated outstanding maturity and professionalism at all times and would not have stood out playing at The Oval or Lord’s. A superb afternoon. Truro Prep have asked us to play them again before the end of the summer term, so watch this space as we may even play on our home ground.
