COOKATHON 28 Apr 2016

Over 200 people were in the school hall cooking this morning. As part of the Let’s Get Cooking programme run by the Children’s Food Trust, children, parents and friends of the school prepped the ingredients for cottage pie.

Cooking has always been a part of what we do at Constantine but the emphasis in the 2015 Curriculum means one class cooks every Thursday afternoon, linked to what they are learning about in class.

Emma, a pupil in Year 2, said “It was fun when Eva and I collected the ingredients. We worked together really well. Cooking at school encourages me to cook at home and help with the washing up.”

Charlie “I think it was really good because the helpers were really supporting and encouraging. It’s good because I know that I will have to cook when I am older.”

At the end of the day each child took a piece of pie to enjoy at home. Bon appetit!
