Constantine’s WW1 Fallen Heroes 18 Oct 2018

Tamar Class visited the village war memorial today. They took rubbings of some of the names they saw there.

Back in class, they visited the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website to resarch who some of these men were.┬áIn addition, they looked on the Cornwall’s War History website to research further. After finding out who the fallen were, which regiment they were in and when they died, the next step will be to try to piece together a picture of where they may have fought using a website such as The Great War.

After half term the children will try to put themselves in the position of one of the soldiers and write a letter home to family. Thses will eventually be displayed in the church as pary of Constantine’s Armistice 100 celebrations.
