Children in Tamar Class Make Human Sentences 15 Mar 2012

During an English lesson this week, I wanted to teach my class how to use drop in clauses which were separated by commas, dashes and brackets. After looking at some examples, we split up into three groups. One group wrote the beginning clause, another wrote the end clause and another group wrote the drop in clause to go in the middle. Children then had 60 seconds to mix up and make sentences with a beginning, middle and end. They also had to choose their punctuation marks and insert those. As you can see from the photos, we had a lot of fun learning about drop in clauses.
